National Nutrition Mission (NNM): - This is a centrally sponsored scheme. Through this scheme efforts are being made to provide better service to the beneficiaries through pre-school education, improvement in nutrition and health, collective participation, monitoring and evaluation. Under this scheme, programs are being implemented in all the 38 districts of the state with wide and public community participation to reduce the indicators of malnutrition within the time limit.
Combined efforts are made to reduce the rate of under nutrition, leanness, underweight and underweight children at the rate of 2 percent per year and the anemia rate of children, adolescents and women by 3 percent per annum. Updated status of nutrition at project, district, state and center level are monitored through ICDS-CAS application by connecting all Anganwadi centers via smartphone for timely monitoring. Evaluation of integrated child development services and activities of malnutrition under nutrition campaign is being done through this application.
Awareness about nutrition is one of the most crucial part of national nutrition mission . In this regard , from module-1 to 15 , of the ILA, has been implemented in all 38 districts of the state. For module 16 to 18, of the ILA ,training drive is being carried out for all the anganwadi workers, ANMs. .

Children from age group 6 months to 6 years will be covered under this scheme.

Immunization of children is done to reduce neonatal mortality. The children are immunized against six childhood diseases namely poliomyelitis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, tuberculosis and measles.
To reduce the rate of malnutrition in children under community-based activity, "Annaprashan" Day is organized on the 19th of every month and "Adoption" Day on the 7th of every month for maternal nutrition and better nutrition of the infants born to them.
For Awareness & Public movement against malnutrition under nutrition campaign ,from the year 2018 , September month is being celebrated as National Nutrition Month for Comprehensive Awareness in the community.
I.L.A. : - ILA training under Continuous Learning System at all levels through 21 modules (State, District, Project, Sector and Anganawadi Center level) Capacity enhancement is done. 21 modules related to health and nutrition have been digitized for easy orientation. As a result, all women supervisors and Anganawadi servants of the state are being trained through e-ILA in smart phones through the app.
Community Based Activity (CBE): Under community based activities, Annaprasan is being conducted on 19th of every month and Godbharai activity on 7th of every month. Under which, counseling is provided to pregnant and mum mothers regarding nutrition, health and hygiene of the children so that the maternal and child mortality rate can be reduced.
An Innovation Initiative (Innovation): Innovations are being carried out under the forward-looking scheme in the districts of Khagadia, Nalanda, Patna, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas and Purnia. New innovations are also under process to achieve the goals of nutrition campaign in the remaining districts.
Advertisement through print and electronic media: Messages related to nutrition, health and hygiene are being brought to rural level through print, electronic media.

To avail the benefits of the scheme one needs to visit the nearest Anganwadi center and get the child s name registered.
