Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG) SAG is a centrally sponsored scheme which aim was to improve the level of health, nutrition and education by providing support to adolescent girls so that they become self-reliant and aware. Under this scheme Girls of age group 11 to 14 years who are not going to school are covered through Anganwadi center. These girls are also provided Iron Folic Acid tablets on weekly basis at the Anganwadi Centers with Nutrition, Health and Hygiene Education..

Girls who are not going to school in the age group of 11 to 14 years are covered.

Under this, adolescent girls of age 11 to 14 years who are not going to school are given rice, eggs and soyabean in the form of THR per month.
(i).To empower the Girls and make them independent.
(ii). Improve nutrition and health conditions.
(iii) To make them aware and educate them about health, hygiene and nutrition .
(iv) To re-admit adolescent girls who are not going to school into the formal education system.
(v) To develop alternative education / skills.
(vi) To develop their home based skills and life skills.

To avail the benefits of the scheme one needs to visit the nearest Anganwadi center and get the girls name registered.

At the subdivision level, the Public Grievance Redressal Officer, at the district level, the District Public Grievance Redressal Officer and at the departmental level, the Office of the Departmental Public Grievance Redressal Officer is functioning where complaints and appeals related to the schemes can be filed. Complaint can also be filed at the project level, Child Development Project Officer, District Program Officer / District Officer at the district level, Divisional Commissioner at the divisional level and director at the state level, ICDS and Additional Chief Secretary / Principal Secretary / Secretary, Social Welfare Department in writing or on telephone.
In SABLA scheme contribution of nutrition program to Central and state government is 50:50 and for non-nutrition program to Central and State government is 60:40.
