Pradhan Mantri Matritwa Vandana Yojna - PMMVY is a centrally sponsored scheme. Under this scheme Pregnant women at their first pregnancy / first live births, are provided Rs. 5000/- in three installment on fulfilling eligibility conditions. The basic purpose of this scheme is to improve the Health and Nutrition of Pregnant women, compensate the wage loss during pregnancy period and to aware the women about health and nutrition services given by different government departments.

All pregnant and lactating women are eligible under this scheme, under the guidelines provided by the Government of India.
Beneficiaries will be eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme only if they have LMP (Last Menstrual Period) date certificate (both dates are mentioned on the MCP card) from the nearest the Anganwadi center or ASHA / ANMs within their five month i.e 150 days from the time they got pregnant.

Under this scheme, an amount of Rs. 5,000 / - is paid through DBT to the first surviving child per beneficiary (pregnant / childbearing) woman . First installment - Rs 1000 / - is given after initial registration of Pregnancy within 150 days of LMP, Second installment is given - Rs 2000 / - after Antenatal check up at least once after completion of six months of pregnancy and third installment of Rs 2000 is given after birth of newborn baby when registration of newborn is done and vaccination of baby (first cycle of BCG, OPV, DPT, Hepatitis B) is completed.

1.Beneficiary and Beneficiary Husband Aadhaar Card.
2.Beneficiary Passbook or Account Proof or Bank Account Proof document.
3.LMP(Last Menstrual Period) Date Proof.

The pregnancy and stage of the beneficiary will be determined on the basis of the LMP mentioned in his MCP card. Such pregnant / lactating women who have taken maternity benefits as per other scheme / government provisions and such women who are regular servants of Central / State Governments will not eligible to get the benefit of this scheme. Pregnant / Maternal Anganwadi Sevika / Helper and ASHA worker fulfilling the other conditions of the scheme can get the benefit of this scheme. The benefit of this scheme is to be given only once to all the eligible beneficiaries. If a pregnant woman has a miscarriage after receiving the first installment of benefits under this scheme, then in future she can be eligible to get second and third installments if she becomes pregnant and fulfills other conditions. If a pregnant / lactating woman dies of infant mortality after receiving the benefit of all three installments under this scheme, then no benefit will be payable to the said woman under this scheme if she becomes pregnant in future.

Under this scheme, the transfer of cash benefit amount is done by DBT. by PFMS To be done through the portal directly into the Aadhaar linked bank/post office account of the beneficiary. All pregnant / lactating women who are pregnant on or after 01.01.2017, for the first surviving child, a conditional cash benefit of Rs. 5000/- to be paid in three installments First Installment - LMP After Early Registration of Pregnancy within 150 days of Rs. 1000/- 2nd Installment - After antenatal check-up at least once on completion of six months of pregnancy Rs. 2000/- Third installment- After registration of birth of newborn and vaccination of child (BCG, OPV, DPT, first cycle of Hepatitis B ) Rs. 2000/- Registration of all interested and eligible beneficiaries at Anganwadi center For registration and claim of the first installment, mobile number, aadhar number, bank account etc., along with the details of the beneficiary and the beneficiary s husband, will have to be filled and submitted along with the necessary documents at the Anganwadi center of your nurturing area. Form 1-B, 1-C of the eligible beneficiary for the second and third installment can be filled by the sevika at her level. Copy of the above prescribed Form-I A to the Anganwadi Center or ICDS. It can be obtained free of cost from the website of Bihar. The following documents should be attached with the completed form. MCP Card Aadhar card of the beneficiary and her husband or any other authorized identity card for the period of registration in case of non-registration of Aadhaar Bank/Post Office account statement of the beneficiary. In case the beneficiary does not have aadhar card and post office/bank account, the sevika/ASHA/ANM will assist in opening their account and getting the aadhar card made. On fulfillment of other conditions, the prescribed Form I B attached for the second installment and the prescribed Form I C attached for the third installment should be filled completely by the beneficiary and submitted along with the necessary documents.

Under this scheme complain can be lodged at the office of the Public Grievance Redressal Officer at the subdivision level and the District Public Grievance Redressal Officer at the district level. In addition, complaints related to this scheme can be lodged at the district office and at the office of the Managing Director, Women Development Corporation and Additional Chief Secretary / Principal Secretary / Secretary, Social Welfare Department at the state level.
