One Stop Center-cum-Women Helpline: - To help women suffering from domestic violence to break the house through counseling, help in registering FIRs in police stations as per requirement, providing legal assistance etc. For this purpose, women help line has been established and is being operated in all the 38 districts of the state under the supervision of District Magistrate.
The scheme has been restructured in the light of the directive received from the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India for the operation of One Stop Center and is being operated as One Stop Center-cum-Women s Help Line.
Short Stay Home: - In case of inconvenience to any woman or teenager in their home due to domestic violence or other reasons, the establishment of short stay home in all the districts of the state is proposed. It aims to provide short term accommodation facility to them. Approval of the operation has been given under the Chief Minister Nari Shakti Yojana, in the light of which at present, in 14 districts of the state, the residence of the Alpavas Ghar is being run through several government institutions.
Protection Home: For the purpose of safe housing and rehabilitation of women victimized by human trafficking or domestic violence a Protection Home is being operated under Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Yojana . At present one Protection Home is operated in Tomar House, Janaki Puram, Vidhinagar, Gola Road, Danapur, Patna.
Special Women s Cell: - Special Women s Cell has been set up in 23 police stations of Patna district to support women and adolescent girls in the creation of friendly environment for women, counseling and lodging FIRs. . A consultant has been appointed by the corporation in each special women s cell.
Social Rehabilitation Fund: - A fund has been arranged for the rehabilitation of women and adolescent girls in need of Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Yojana, which is known as Social Rehabilitation Fund. For this, 38 districts of the state have been classified into two groups viz. Source and Destination. An amount of Rs 225000.00 is provided with the District Magistrate of Source District and Rs 285000.00 is provided to the District Magistrate with Destination. There is a provision for payment of this amount by the District Magistrate in the form of a grant or loan to a victim woman or teenager, up to a maximum of Rs.15000.
Service Sector Training: Its objective is to make women and adolescent girls of the state eligible for employment in various service areas after vocational training and for planning and self-employment. In the light of the decision of the government, training in the service sector is being done as per the standard set under the Bihar Skill Development Mission.
Social Awareness (Street play): -
Provision has been made to perform at least two street plays in all the panchayats of the state with an aim to make people aware on social issues like abolition of child marriage and dowry system, Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana, liquor ban, water life greenery etc. Eleven districts of the state have been identified as having more child marriages and dowry districts, with provision for at least three street plays in each panchayat.
Child marriage and dowry system elimination campaign:
The government has taken the fast growing dwarfism in the state seriously. Child marriage and dowry have been considered the main reason for dwarfism. Therefore, a comprehensive campaign is being launched by the government to eradicate child marriage and dowry system.
Women Helpline No. 181: - To provide quick support and referral facility to women and adolescent girls, the women helpline number 181 established in the headquarters of Women Development Corporation with the funding of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. Its services are available 24 * 7. In this, any harassed / distressed woman or teenager can avail the services of women help line, such as - counseling, referral and information by making free phone calls.
