This scheme is being operated with the aim of providing financial assistance to the disabled belong to BPL family.

Under this scheme, a person with disability of 80% or more disability in the age group of 18-79 years of BPL family is given a pension of Rs 400 /- per month while contribution made Rs 300 /- by the Central Government and Rs 100 /- by the State Government. After the age of 80 years, the pensioner of this scheme is transferred to Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme.

• Women / Men belongs to age group 18-79 years of BPL family will be covered under Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme.
• Under this scheme a person with disability of 80% or more of age group 18-79 years will be eligible.

Under this scheme, a disabled person with a disability of 80 percent or more of any income is given a pension of Rs. 400 / - per month while contribution made Rs 300 /- by the Central Government and Rs 100 /- by the State Government and age group of 80 years or above will be eligible to get pension of Rs 500/- per month through DBT.

1. Belongs to BPL Family:- BPL Card.
2. Disability certificate:- Disability certificate (80% and More) issued from Chief Medical Officer, Community Health Centre or Primary Health Centre will be accepted.
3. Income Certificate.
4. Age Proof.
5. Bank Pass Books.
6. Identity Proof.
7. Passport Size Photographs.

The person who fulfills the eligibility for availing the benefit of the scheme has to visit the RTPS counter located at the block office level with the prescribed form.

To get the benefit of Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension, the person who fulfills the eligibility has to submit his application in the prescribed form at the RTPS counter located at the block office level.
In the light of the recommendation received from the Panchayat Secretary and the documents maintained, the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension is approved by the Sub-Divisional Officer on the recommendation of the Block Development Officer on SSPMIS electronically. After accepting online, the approval order is issued automatically with the number and date, as well as if the mobile number of the beneficiary is maintained then it is also given on his mobile.

Under the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension, the amount is paid to the beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) process. In this process, on the basis of the account number provided by the beneficiary, the amount of pension is paid directly to the beneficiary s account from the state level through PFMS.
Pension payments are made quarterly/monthly as far as possible. After the verification of the payment file from PFMS, it is prepared as soon as possible by the authorized officials from the Directorate level, after approving it on PFMS, Ready for Payment i.e. for payment.
In the light of the availability of the amount, the payment will be allowed by the director on the Ready for Payment file, after which the process of pension payment is done by the authorized officials by editing the process of digital signature and direct payment (DBT) is done in the account of the beneficiaries.

In relation to Indira Gandhi National Disability Scheme, beneficiaries can filed complaint at Block Development Officer, Subdivision Office, Assistant Director, District Social Security Cell / District Child Protection Unit, Director, Office of Social Security and Additional Chief Secretary / Principal Secretary / Secretary, Office of Social Welfare Department. In addition, under the Bihar Public Grievances Redressal Act, 2016, the office of the Public Grievance Redressal Officer at the subdivision level and the District Public Grievance Redressal Officer at the district level are functional.
